Moscow

All railways lines in Russia lead to the capital, so you’ll be spending some time here, even if it’s just a quick visit to Red Square as you change stations. Moscow is worth much more than that, however. Almost all the resounding changes that have taken place in the country over the past decade have been initiated here and if you’re looking for the pulse of the new Russia it’s here what you’ll find it. More info.

Fooling around with the samovar of our carriage

As it couldn’t be otherwise, Lenin was heading the Leningradsky station.

An spy of KGB: He didn’t stop staring us while we were taking pictures around...

Tachan, tachan... The Duma!
The Red Square with the Gremlin at the right and the Bubble GOOM at the left. The great Bolshoi Theatre

This is what I call earning your daily bread doing nothing

Bottle, pingeon, rock and old KGB building... Here they have tortured so many people...

The Hotel Moskva. It is said that when they were building this hotel the arquitect became blind. Due to this the left and right parts are different. When Stalin saw it finished in this asymmetric way, he deported the arquitect to Siberia... such a nice place I would say... :-)

You guessed it. The biggest and most beautiful one of the Seven Sisters of Stalin. The Moscow University. It has about 40 floors plus the hood, and appart from classrooms it has a student residence, food shops and meat supermarket...

From the University of Moscow to heaven... The electric shaver that I bought seems to work quite well... A close up of the Luzhniki arena. At the end the golden tits of the cathedral

The front door of the Tretyakovskaya Gallery A view of the Kremlin and Moskva river

Always Coca-cola... and everywhere, heck!

There are 11 golden onions (only 10 are visible here). One per each apostle except Judas. In any case, with the money he got, he could easily build a whole cathedral for himself.

Another of the churches inside the Kremlin. In the whole of the left bell tower there should be the Tsarina of the bells, which is lying on the ground behind the church. With 24 tons of weight they couldn’t rise it once forged, and they left it there... another unused huge piece of bronce

The “tsar of the cannons” inside the Kremlin. With its calibre of 890 and 200 tons of weight, it is the biggest of the world. However, who cares, if it has never been shot... Of course, with that calibre they didn’t have balls to shoot it...

The newly rebuild Resurrection Cathedral

The metro: the palace of the proletariat
Red eclipse Is is always a good idea to have a tank nearby... just in case the granmas get wild...

Red Square in a foggy evening. I love this sight. One of the many eternal flames in Russia. Wonderful place to make barbeques if it wouldn’t be because of the soldiers that are around.
