Another view from the room, quite better than the
previous one. The ships are not luxurious yatches but... |

Our ship was pretty cool. It would take us
to a very famous dam in Krasnoyarsk. |

The dam was built in the 60s, and still, it was dedicated to
Lenin... This is real cult to a person... |

Tthe famous
dam. It has several special things. One is its size: a kilometer
wide and 120 meters tall. Moreover, it is made with so many
million of billion of trillion kilograms of concrete that it
doesn’t have to have the curved shape to make easier supporting
the pressure of the water, it is completely straight. |

So they
designed some kind of box that goes into the water, takes the
ships, goes around the dam and leaves the ships again on the
water. We were told this is the only dam in the world with such
a mechanism. |
This was the most curious thing of the dam. They
realized that if they used the typical system with floodgates so
the ships could traverse the dam, the water would reach
Krasnoyarsk (about 30 kilometers from here) and would partially
flood the city. |

The guy that
took us to the dam. He had a gun under his seat, but he was a
nice guy... |
